In this stunning bathroom renovation, Aptitude Design & Build transformed an awkward layout into a luxurious, spa-inspired retreat. The homeowners wanted to keep their spacious walk-in closet, while making it even larger, and completely reimagine the adjoining bathroom to include both a soaking tub and a generous walk-in shower.

The existing space posed a few challenges: the original layout felt cramped and disjointed, and there wasn’t enough room to fit both a separate tub and shower. Aptitude’s design solution was to integrate the two, placing the tub directly inside the shower enclosure to maximize function and maintain a clean, modern flow.

The final design features several standout elements:

1. Integrated tub and shower – A statement feature that makes smart use of space, with the tub enclosed within the walk-in shower for a seamless and contemporary look.
2. Heated towel rack and floors – Both located inside the shower and throughout the bathroom, providing everyday comfort and a true spa feel.
3. Multiple showerheads – Offering a customizable experience, from rainfall to handheld sprays.
4. Backlit mirrors – Perfect for makeup application and creating soft, ambient light.
5. Zero-entry shower – A flush, barrier-free design that enhances accessibility and modern appeal.

Visually, the space strikes a bold balance of dark and light. The bathroom features dark floors, dark-trimmed glass doors, and matching shower fixtures, contrasted beautifully with lighter tiles and backlit accents. The shower itself showcases dramatic 3x5-foot wall tiles, creating an elevated, high-impact aesthetic.

Every design choice, from the contrasting tones to the mix of textures and patterns, was thoughtfully curated to give the bathroom a sense of sophistication and depth while remaining warm and inviting.

The result is a master suite that feels unified, functional, and indulgent. The expanded walk-in closet now flows effortlessly into a bathroom that blends bold design with everyday luxury.
